In this summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man himself is pitted against one of his greatest foes from the comics, The Vulture. The adaptation of the villain is heavily reliant on his tech, the wings that allow him to soar through and terrorize New York City. With that tech comes the adaptation of another infamous character: The Tinkerer. Today, on Reddit, an image of Michael Chernus’ Tinkerer surfaced:

He greatly differs from his appearance on the panels, as Chernus’ take is more youthful. In the comics, The Tinkerer, had his own repair shop, “Phineas Fix-It”, and thought, in the emergence of superheroes, that they were reckless in the use of their powers, thereby becoming a super-villain (as most villains do).

One of his first attacks on Spider-Man, though, was at the hire of Quentin Beck, whom he later assisted in becoming Mysterio. He even created Scorpion’s tail. The fact the character has a presence on the big screen now means that these characters are hopefully not too far away. My prediction is that with fans clamoring to see the Daily Bugle and J. Jonah Jameson, the Scorpion may be next up to bat against Spidey! At the same time, Mysterio would be much more visually stunning to see on screen. What do you think?
